Apple Snacking Cake - Flour Bakery
Apple Snacking Spice Cake from Flour Bakery Cookbook

Last week was crazy busy. Day trip to San Diego, sickness and a garbage bag full of baked goods that never made it to their destination (um, don't want to be known as Typhoid Mary), and just the usual 75 degree winter weather of Los Angeles. :)

However, I did manage to make this yummy cake from my latest obsession, the Flour Bakery cookbook.

When I drank coffee in college (I don't drink much caffeine now...gives me a headache), I would be the person who had a bit of coffee with my milk and sugar. This cake has a bit of batter with lotsa apples, pecans and raisins. The batter is superthick but all comes to together in a yummy cake. You'll need a 10" round cake pan for this delicious snacking cake.

A sprinkling of powdered sugar is all this cake needs. Another winning recipe from the Flour Bakery cookbook! Yum!

Your cake looks delicious! And I love apples! I've never heard of that cookbook though, I'll have to look for it. Stop by for a slice of my dessert when you have a moment!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is the first recipe I made from Flour and I think it will always be my favorite!

I never, ever, ever bake treats (and only just baked my first loaf of bread in years this weekend!), but the Flour Bakery cookbook is incredibly tempting to me -- especially after seeing the deliciousness that bloggers I admire (like you!) are whipping up from it.

I loved Flour when I lived in Boston. Maybe it's time for me to get over my baking phobia…

I made this one too but haven't blogged about it yet. I loved it....it reminds me of the fall but is good to eat any time.

I'm in love with apple baked goods lately, and this looks like it'd be hard to resist- moist and full of yummy bits and pieces!

Snacking cake is a great name for it. I love the kind of cake where you can just grab a slice as you walk through the kitchen. The more apples and other yummies that are tucked inside; the better. I'm loving this.

Dear Food Librarian, I love your blog! Have read it for some time now but never got around to tell you how much I like it. Keep up the good work :)

And winter with 75 degrees... I can only dream! Right now it´s a snowstorm outside my window and about 32 degrees. Still quite mild, some places further north had -42 last night, I only had +19.
