Granola Grabber Cookies
Granola Grabbers...with my niece's Hello Kitty cup o' soy milk

Here's my past week:

Watch Olympics
Go to work and discuss Olympics (Did you catch the trampoline?!)
Come home and watch Olympics until my eyes can't stay open
Get up and catch last night's replay
Go to work and discuss the Lighting Bolt from Jamaica, volleyball, and the pommel horse
Volunteer at KCRW's pledge drive (support public radio!!)

Rinse and repeat.

Granola Grabber Cookies
This week's Tuesday with Dorie recipe was selected by Michelle of Bad Girl Baking - Granola Grabbers on page 82 of Dorie's book.

I used gingersnap granola from Whole Foods, craisins, raisins, unsalted peanuts, and almonds. I nixed the coconut because I'm not a fan, and I skipped the wheat germ because I was cheap ($6 a bottle and I only needed a few tablespoons...I'm sure it would have been very tasty though...maybe next time)

The cookies came out pretty flat - perhaps because I skipped a few ingredients! They were still tasty though.

I'm totally obsessed iwth the olympics too! I actually made these while watching atheletics... thankfully we weren't making a cake this week.

I love how thin and crisp your cookies look. I had to pat mine down with a spatuala halfway into baking so that they wouldn't come out looking like a ball.

I'm glad the Olympics only last for a couple weeks. I can't afford to be this sleep-deprived all the time... =) I used gingersnap granola, too. It was really good. And I suggest chocolate chips as a substitute for the coconut (nasty stuff).

Even flat, I'm sure they were delicious!

Sounds like an intense week! Ain't sleep deprivation grand? I really like how your cookies look, all thin and crispy.

Gingersnap granola? Yum! And I agree, my schedule has been work, work out, Olympics, sleep. Rinse and repeat for two weeks straight.

My husband is committed to watching the Olympics - I, however, must have my sleep!!

Gingersnap granola? It's best if I don't buy that - I'd eat the whole container.

Boy, that gingersnap granola is turning up every where! I need to find some of that. The cookies look good, and I'm glad you liked them. They were a big hit here, at least with me! :o)
P.S. I'm all for public radio right now. I have just recently started listening on a regular basis and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm not much of a fan of coconut either but I used it anyways and I actually couldn't taste it. It added a great texture though. Your cookies look great!

glad you liked them!

i learned the hard way, like you, that if you omit too many things, the cookies flatten out on you... next time just add a little more flour and granola. i didn't want to buy the wheat germ either.

i had never seen the trampoline on the olympics before!!

Oh, these cookies needed some spice. Good call on the gingersnap granola!

I love gingersnaps - I bet that graola is goooood.
But I love love your Hello Kitty mug. Cool Beans.

Your cookies look really good. I like flat cookies. I was sure that every one out there would have each used a different granola, but I used the exact same one that you did. So now I'll bet that there were not two people who used the same set of ingredients.

Your cookies look great! I wish mine would have come out flatter.

My husband is truly obsessed with the Olympics. When he is home, that is all we watch.

The craisins sound great in these cookies - it sounds like they may have toned down the sweetness.

Ohhh what does gingersnap granola taste like? That sounds SO GOOD!

Yours turned out a little like mine....as if they melted. But I guess I baked mine a little longer they were burnt and inedible.

I'm crazy over Olympics as well. ;-)

Your thin cookies looks great, I bet it must be very crispy.

I sometimes find that if my butter is too warm, then my cookies will flatten out. Whatever the case, I'm sure they were very tasty!
