Chocolate Madeleines - Tuesdays with Dorie
Chocolate Nutella-Filled Madeleines

For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Margo of Effort to Deliciousness chose Chocolate Fluff-Filled Madeleine on page 170 and 171 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.

I'm not a big fan of marshmallow fluff so I opted to fill these madeleines with Nutella. Who doesn't love Nutella? Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job of filling them...my co-workers only got a little, itty bitty Nutella.

Chocolate Madeleines - Tuesdays with Dorie
I always forget on these Madeleine recipes...you need to chill the dough! This one needs a minimum 3 hour chill. Madeleines are so easy to make (as long as you plan), but I forget about them. I need to include them in my rotation of "morning meeting" sweets along with my usual muffins, coffee cakes and (of course) Bundt cakes.

Unfortunately, I had flat madeleines. I'm always looking for a Kim Kardashian/J. Lo lovely lady bump on my madeleines, but almost always fall short. Maybe next time...

Check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers and see their creations! There are lots of interpretations.

P.S. I love that it is 1-11-11 today. I'm a nerd.

LOVE Madeleines. Funnily enough the recipes I've made never asked for a sitting time and still worked delightfully. Love the filling idea. Nutella esp as the last batch I made had hazelnut meal in...nom nom nom....

Ps LOVE the new layout and logo -so fresh and clean!

Um....you are not a nerd...I was excited about 1/11/11 all day too :). Nice work...nutella is so much better than fluff every day of the week and twice on sundays.

Great filling idea! A little bit of Nutella is better than no Nutella at all...ehehehe. ;)

Love the way you styled your madeleines - you always do such a nice job of that. These were just as hard to photograph as they were to fill :)

Lovely photos, your madeleines look great. You really can't go wrong with Nutella, even if it's not very much Nutella. Thanks for baking with me!
