Dorie calls these, "Pumpkin Muffins."
I've renamed them "Super Delicious Tastes of Fall Pumpkin Muffin Delights!" Sure, a bit long, but a more accurate description!

Kelly of Sounding My Barbaric Gulp chose this week's recipe from Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours (page 13). Oh man. I love these muffins. It is my third time making them! I told you, I love these muffins!
I made them according to the recipe, but added pepitas (pumpkin seeds) on top. Next time, I will probably switch or combine the raisins with dried cranberries as many other TWD bakers did.
I made them once and baked them at the recipe's 400 degrees. However, I felt that was too hot and made them at 350 instead. Other TWD bakers took them out of the 400 degree oven early - so watch the time!
Nutty, raisiny insides!

I 100% agree with your amended title - these were wonderful little bites of fall! So cute too.
Hi Dorie-- I just made some the other day... don't you just love Pumpkin? I had to use winter squash (it is more in abundance here than the American Orange variety.)
Your snaps are fabulously fantastic, may I ask what type of camera you use?
I added you to my blog roll...hope you don't mind..
Happy Fall to you too- these look delicious!
pumpkin seeds on top -- the most logical topping! they're really beautiful. wish i had some left for this morning's breakfast...
I love yout new, but definetely more accurate name for these muffins! They are amazing!!
your look great, nice addition with the pepitas! I love those cupcake wrappers- need to get me some!
Total agreement here. The name should be changed. They were rather incredible weren't they?
Happy fall to you too!
I love fall. And pumpkin. I put pepitas on top too--they were quite tasty--I don't think I'd had them before this. Your muffins look delicious!
who knew something so boring sounding like "pumpkin muffins" could be so tasty!! yours look great, i love that first photo of the big pile of goodness!
Wow! I feel like a little mouse sneaking around those muffins... the pictures are so clear, it's as if they were touchable!
Happy Fall to you too... oh! and happy muffins also! LOL
Ha I love your amended title! I had a little mishap with these and didn't love them, but you're so convincing that I think I will have to try again!
Beautiful muffins. I loved the sunflower seeds on top, but the pepitas sound even better.
sounds like you've had a lot of practice with these ;) great job! yours look so nice, i love the deep orange color (mine were kinda yellow for some reason). i think i would do 350* next time as well.
Love the new name! I am looking forward to baking with pumpkin now that it's so cool outside.
I love the orange color of your muffins. They remind me of Fall! Those toppings make it look so appealing. Awesome additions and awesome job.
I bet the seeds add a nice crunch! Looks good!
What are the tiny paper cups for?
Your pictures are so great...
Yummy! Yours look perfect. Looks like they came right out of a recipe book.
I love your new name for these muffins and that you used pumpkin seeds on top. Your pictures are also amazing!
wow, they look just like in the book!
I LOVE the way yours look - loaded up with sunflower seeds and pepitas. How cool that you've found your perfect seasonal taste.

Oh, pumpkin goodness and yumminess! Pretty, pretty pictures, and I can almost smell them!
Those look beautiful! I love the black background. I have been baking with pumpkin like crazy over here. I hope to try these too.
First time visitor to your blog! Love your up close photos. Also, I like the nut combo "crown." Don't you? They really look pretty and I imagine the saltiness of the nut is a nice flavor combo with the soft spiciness of the muffins. I'll have to try that next time. You must be a chockylit reader, with the cups. They make a pretty presentation. Great new name.

Great photos!!!
I suspect I will be making these again and again too as I am getting rather hooked on eating one each morning. I just removed tomorrow's muffing from the freezer so it will be ready to go in the morning!
Absolutely beautiful muffins!!
Wow- those look absolutely amazing- even better than the book! Great job!
I second that title. Super Delicious for sure. Lovely lovely photos.
Ooh they look great with all those seeds on top!
Love your revised title! I might have to borrow that one next time I serve these! I've also made these multiple times -- we love them! Your pictures are gorgeous! Love the pumpkin seeds on top.
your muffins look fantastic and i love the paper you used.
Your pictures turned out beautifully! Pepitas did add a nice touch to this recipe. I love that you renamed them. The name totally fits!
Great job! They look delicious!
I love your "Little Bites of Fall!" Lovely! The addition of the pumpkin seeds is perfect. Now, why didn't I think of that!!
