Wonderful idea to halve the almond extract. Mine were too almondy also, and I was thinking that for next time, I'll reduce the cornmeal and sub half vanilla extract for almond. I also didn't get the "marching band" instruction... (?????) so I just laid them on their sides. Glad to know that others had to increase baking time as well.
