Pear Ginger Bundt - I Like Big Bundts

I love all things ginger. Crystallized. Ginger Tea. Ginger Candy. Ginger Ice Cream. Gingersnaps. Mary Ann was always nice, but Ginger was always my favorite (well, actually, the Professor was my favorite).

And I had a pear.

Thus, the Pear Ginger Bundt!

I'm making 30 Bundts in 30 days. I hope to inspire you to make a Bundt cake for National Bundt Day on November 15th...or any day of the week! Bundt cakes rock!

This recipe uses a ginger simple syrup. Boil water, sugar and pieces of fresh ginger until syrupy. I felt the recipe could have triple the amount of ginger...so I would increase the amount of ginger in the syrup.

This recipe has the best technique for applying raw sugar! Most of the ginger syrup is added to the cake batter and some reserved for the top. After the cake comes out of the oven, the syrup is brushed on the cake and raw sugar is sprinkled on top. The syrup has enough "stickyness" to keep the sugar on the cake. Awesome.

During National Library Week, I made a Double Ginger Sour Cream Bundt. In this bundt, you butter and line a cake with raw sugar. When it comes out of the pan, it is supposed to sparkle...but all my sugar baked itself into the cake. Next time, I'll use this technique instead.

The cake is light and easy to make. As I said, I would totally up the ginger in this one. But it is a nice fall treat to have with a tall glass of milk.

Thanks for dropping by! I'm hoping to get a Tuesdays with Dorie post up later today too! Crossing fingers things come together.

Shout out to my TWD friend Pamela of Cookies with Boys for posting a yummy Bundt! And thanks to L of De Baking Psychopath for making a Bundt and sending me lots of Gambatte encouragement!

This sounds and looks absolutely amazing! I love everything ginger, too, and it is such a great complement to pears, I can't even imagine how delicious this was! Definitely adding it to the ever-growing list! I love the technique for adding the sugar, it is so beautiful and sparkly!
