All in One Holiday Bundt Cake - Tuesdays with Dorie
All in One Holiday Bundt Cake

For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Britin of The Nitty Britty picked the All in One Holiday Bundt Cake on pages 186 and 187 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.

I'm a day late in posting because my friend had to have emergency gallbladder removal surgery last night. Get well soon Dominic!

The hospital cafeteria was selling pieces of Bundt cake, I just finished my marathon I Like Big Bundts: 30 Bundts in 30 Days for National Bundt Day, and I made this Bundt for Tuesdays with Dorie! Bundt love surrounds me all the time (Read: I didn't totally burn myself out last month on the Bundt!)

All in One Holiday Bundt Cake - Tuesdays with Dorie
All. In. One. Dorie ain't kidding! This has everything that is Fall packed into a Bundt.
Awesome.

After I finished I Like Big Bundts, I treated myself to one Bundt pan I've been eyeing... the Williams Sonoma exclusive Heritage Bundt (made by Nordic Ware). And on National Bundt Day, I went out and bought it! Ain't it purdy?!

This recipe combines all that is the Holiday season: Pumpkin, Nuts, Cranberries, Apples and Spices!

I used walnuts instead of pecans and found the batter came together very easily.

The cake was moist and yummy. I ate two slices!

I glazed the Bundt with a powdered sugar, maple syrup and milk glaze.

Can you tell me where you got your white cake stand? I absolutely love it and Ive seen it in so many pictures (especially this last month with the Bundt cakes).

Chrysta,
I got them from Sur La Table. They are the "Porcelain Cake Stands". They come in three sizes (I have all three!!). 8", 10", 12" (cost $15-$30 each)...I got them when they went on sale.

They are sturdy and are plain so they don't take away from the beauty of the cake. And they go with anything! I dropped one and chipped an edge, but just stick a piece of tape over it and in the back of the photo. I need to put a new one on my wish list! :) Hope this helps!

Mary,
Thank you so much! I didn't even think to look at Sur La Table. I checked every where else but there. Ive been wanting something just like those because they are just a basic stand and don't take away from the cake. These are perfect.

Not only are you the Bundt Queen, you're also the Glaze Drizzle Champion. I am drizzle challenged! I agree that this was a great cake - I loaded it up with cranberries, and would add even more the next time around. Glad to see you're still bundting away.

I love that you're still making bundts after the 30 days!

And that is one fine looking pan!

Squeee!!! Another bundt!
What I want to know is with this new bundt pan when you cut yourself a slice do you go at an angle or straight up and down, "against the grain?" Personally, I'd have to go at an angle and give myself a monsterous piece!

That is so pretty! I know what kind of bundt pan I will be buying next.

The pan is gorgeous....I can't believe you made the bundt this week. I thought you would be burned out :).

I love the Heritage bundt pan. I bought it this summer while visiting my mom and left it at her house. She's basically holding it hostage now. Guess I'll be buying another one.

I think you're amazing at doing icing, Mary. the bird's eye of the cake shows how perfectly it's been applied (I appreciate the finer details in cakes).

Tips please! :)

It's like a fruitcake you actually WANT to eat! Good luck to your friend Dominic, btw. I hope he feels better!

That looks gorgeous! I've really been wanting a new bundt pan since my current one is old and cheap. I think I need to head over to WS, since that pan is my favorite of all the ones I've seen recently. Maybe I can even get it in time to make this cake!

Just saw that Kiss My Bundt is having financial difficulties. It's no time to give up on bundts, especially when I just found out about this place from your blog! I'm planning on heading over there this week to try out some of their varieties. I don't own a bundt pan... so I'm forced to rely on others for bundt goodness. And your month long bundt adventure sure hasn't helped my cravings.

I love that bundt pan, although my first new bundt purchase will definitely be a half-size bundt :) And seeing this cake makes me wish I still had mine. Sigh...

The pan is lovely; the glazed cake, very pretty, but that slice with its full and luscious chunks of fruit is so very inviting!
Wonderful post.
