Fresh Mango Bread - Tuesdays with Dorie

Food Librarian - Fresh Mango Bread
Fresh Mango Bread. Deliciousness in a carb.

For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Kelly of Baking with the Boys selected Fresh Mango Bread on page 45 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.

I love mangos! Plain mangos. Mangos with chili pepper. Mango lassi. Oh yes, I heart mango!

Food Librarian - Fresh Mango Bread
I cut the bread into little pieces to make it easier for my co-workers to grab a bite. The pottery is my platter from Gary Holt Pottery in Berkeley, California (see this for more info).

This recipe took 2 1/2 small mangos to get the right amount of diced mango. The bread was very very easy to mix and put together. I skipped the raisins and went all mango, all the time.

Food Librarian - Fresh Mango Bread
While baking, I thought the bread would overflow out of the pan! It really doomed up...but then fell while cooling. That happens a lot with my breads...they are such a tease in the oven.

Food Librarian - Fresh Mango Bread
The bread had a nice blend of spices, and the fresh mango was delicious. Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers! You can find the recipe on Kelly's website Baking with the Boys or buy Dorie's great book!

It looks delicios and I love the platter it's on, too. I skipped the raisins, they just didn't seem right to me. Wonderful job.

I love mangos too, but this recipe didn't win me over. Your mention of a mango lassi is making me crave one right now - looks like i'm going out for Indian food tonite!

BTW, have to mention again, I love your plate --- so perfect so showcase your beautiful loaf.

I'm glad to know that the bread settles down eventually. I just put mine in the oven about 30 min ago and it looks like it's ready to explode with an hour to go!
It looks delicious and I love the way that you cut it into slices for easy grabbing.

What a beautiful bread tray! (I know that's not what I'm supposed to be looking at...) It's interesting that our breads all look different...I cut my mango into tiny dice and it disappeared. Yours is so pretty with those golden chunks!

WOW! Love the service plate... It carries somekind of ressemblance with the bread even! The edges are very similar! ...okay, no, I'm not high... just very visual, whimsical and imaginative! LOL But I hold my point of vue... they look similar.

And oh! Yes... the bread looks wonderful! of course, as usual! LOL
