Chocolate Whopper Malted Drops (Dorie Greenspan recipe)
Chocolate Whopper Malted Drops

For this week's Tuedays with Dorie recipe, Rachel of Confessions of a Tangerine Tart chose Chocolate Whopper Malted Drops on page 85 for Dorie's most excellent book, Baking: From My Home to Yours. Buy this book!!

Chocolate Whopper Malted Drops (Dorie Greenspan recipe)
Whoppers are a special candy in my book. Chocolate outside and a soft cloud of melty sugary stuff on the inside. Combine with a cookie and what can you expect? Deliciousness!

Chocolate Whopper Malted Drops (Dorie Greenspan recipe)
These were very sweet, soft and yummy. Some people thought they were too sweet, and I think a tall glass of milk will help cut the sweetness. Also, these cookies have Ovaltine in them so I think they are practically a health food.

Beautiful pictures!

Although I love Whoppers on their own, I didn't like the cookies. Maybe you are right, they were too sweet!

Gorgeous, gorgeous pictures! I love your dishes (Crate & Barrel?) and the cookies are beautiful. Any post-Olympic withdrawal? It doesn't seem the same without Phelps on TV.

Yes it is a health food. Great pictures.

wow, yours look darker than mine... I wonder if that's due to the Ovaltine.

They have that deep, dark chocolate look to them... mmmm! Nice job.

A cookie - too sweet!? Aren't cookies supposed to just be a sugar delivery device? Anyway, I love all your pictures - the cookies look great!
